All set for Round 4 at Lydden Hill, UK

21/05/2015 by Per Andersson

After the 3 opening events in the 2015 Rallycross World Championship, the Volkswagen Team Sweden driver, Johan Kristoffersson is holding second position overall as Runner up in the Championship.

At Mettet RX, Volkswagen Team Sweden entered 3 Polo R WRX.

During all 3 events the all new Polo R WRX has proved to be very fast, winning the opening round in Portugal. Struggling with tyre problems in Germany and Belgium, the team is now again prepared to challenge for Finals at Lydden Hill.

Johan Kristoffersson was the best qualifier, last weekend in Belgium, setting the fastest heat time of all drivers. After a brilliant start it all looked safe for the Final when the Swede had a front left puncture and had to slow down.

A disappointed Kristoffersson could despite the puncture still hold second position when arriving round four at Lydden Hill, in Kent, UK this weekend.

The team stayed in Belgium for a couple of days to prepare the Two Polo R WRX for Kristoffersson and Linnerud. Now the entire crew are really looking forward to race at the historical Lydden Hill track. The fast track is a traditional Rallycross track, as the opening event in Portugal. The 2 recent events has been held at temporary built Rallycross tracks, which both caused many drivers to face tyre problems.

Round four is once again proving the increasing interest of the sport by presenting a massive 30 Supercars entry. The regular WRX Drivers will face some new contenders, like WRC star Guy Wilks and BTCC star Andrew Jordan.

This weekend, the event at Lydden Hill counts for the World Championship only. Ole Christian Veiby will be back in the team at Buxtehude again, within 4 weeks.
