26/04/2015 by Per Andersson

Montalegre was drained with water as sky was open and heavy rain made the race difficult during the Saturday opening two heats. Kristoffersson was second in the first start but managed to overtake Latvian Reinis Nitis in the exit of the first corner. Being first on the road Kristoffersson set away in style when he suffered from a flat tyre and had to back of to finish as 16:th overall. Volkswagen college Linnerud started careful as he had a difficult morning test session. Tord ended up 12:th overall in the first heat.

In the second heat, Kristoffersson made a perfect start, and managed to drive from start to finish in the lead of his heat resulting in a great third time overall. Linnerud was caught by the very slippery track and after a spin finished with 16:th position.

- “The water sick track had a lot of holes and sharp edges and one of these holes took out my rear left tire. Except from that I am satisfied with my first day in Montalegre and I am really looking forward for tomorrow where my target is first to reach the semi finals. The Polo R WRX is working perfect and I am full of confident for the remaining weekend. As we have never been at this track before, we are still at a learning curve”, says the tall Swede Kristoffersson.
