Volkswagen Team Sweden ready for Buxtehude, Germany

16/06/2015 by Per Andersson

With no more then four days to go, the Team is busy loading 3 Volkswagen Polo R WRX for the fifth round of FIA World Rallycross championship and the second round of the European Championship, when the Championship is returning to Germany for the second time 2015.

During the 4 weeks break since last race in England, the Cars and the Drivers has been able to recharge their batteries and the entire team are eager to get started at the traditional Rallycross track, located outside Hamburg in Lower Saxony, Northern Germany. For the second time this year, Volkswagen Team Sweden arrives a track where we have been racing before, in 2014. Track experience is valuable as the Team is on its maiden World Championship campaign 2015.

During the opening four events of the season, the new Volkswagen Polo R WRX has been impressing the fans, showing great speed and reliability. Despite the lack of track experience, Johan Kristoffersson has been one of the fastest drivers on all tracks, i.e. setting the fastest lap-times during the Warm-up session for all races so far. Being the Runner-up in the Championship is beyond expectations, but very encouraging to the team to keep on development, to challenge for future victories. The short and tricky circuit at Buxtehude is a pure challenge, very hazardous, with tight corners and though barriers where everything could happen. Records tells us that it is very small margins at the German track, but the target is to qualify for the Final and take it from there..

Johan Kristoffersson is holding second position overall in the World Championship with team mate Tord Linnerud on 12:th. Young Norwegian Ole-Christian Veiby performed a great result in Belgium, holding a tied second position overall in the European Championship.
